The progressive saxophone player Hans Dulfer joined forces with producer handieMan to add his funky beats to Dulfers saxual melodies. Instead of his usual 'heavyjazz' repertoire, the King of Jazz has chosen a more 'loungy' approach, and shows a completely different side of himself on the 'Scissors' album. A side that, up till now, we haven't seen before. handieMan maurice [Maurits de Weert] is a producer/musicdirector at the music/internet company Tree-Top [www.tree-top.nl]. His musical methods can best be described as arrangements of downtempo funky beats with an atmospheric character, combined with hard drum and basslines.
