Singer & composer Anne Chris  graduated from the Conservatory of Amsterdam in 2001. She then went on to take postgraduate studies at the same conservatory, during which she specialised in writing her own compositions.
In 2003 she concluded her training at the conservatory with a performance in het Bimhuis in Amsterdam during the Graduation Jazz Festival. In July of the same year she performed with her band at the North Sea Jazz Festival.
In March 2004 Anne Chris recorded her debut CD, entitled 'Tomorrow is today', which was released by the Jazz Impuls Foundation. On this cd she sang different styles; in addition to jazz standards, she also recorded a Brazilian song and her own compositions.
In 2005 Anne Chris reached the final of the Jazzvocalistenconcours in Zwolle (NL) and  performed again at the North Sea Jazz Festival. That same year she toured in Marocco, together with guitarplayer Jan Wouter Oostenrijk, who is specialized in ‘Maghreb Jazz’ (mixture between jazz and eastern-music).
In 2006 she was selected to join the Double Bill Tour, organised by the Jazz Impuls Foundation. Together with the band of guitarplayer Wim Bronnenberg she performed a.o. in the famous Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
Anne Chris released her second cd, entitled ‘Play for now’ in january 2010. This album contains 10 original songs. It has received great response in the media, including live-perfomances on Radio 6, the Dutch radiochannel specialised in jazz, pop and soul. For this reason, Anne Chris was selected for the VIVA 400 list, a list with  the most succesful women of 2010, organised by the Dutch weekly magazine VIVA.
In the summer of 2010 Anne Chris was invited by jazzpianist Berend van den Berg to be part of a concert tour through India. As 'Duo in Unison' they had concerts  in Hyderabad, Chennai and New Delhi, performing jazzstandards and original music. The highlight of this tour was a performance together with Sharat Chendra Sravastava (violin) and Guyan Sigh (tabla), two highly talented Indian musicians.
In february 2011 'Play for now' was released in Thailand. Anne Chris promoted her album in with concerts in Bangkok and on  the island Koh Samui. Straight after this tour she joined the Duch Jazz Expedition Tour to India. Together with a group of ten Dutch jazz-musicians she represented the 'Dutch Jazz' in Goa and Mumbai. In 2012 her new album is planned to be released.
