Guy Chauvet was born on 2nd of October 1933 at Montluçon, but brought up at Tarbes. It was in this town that Chauvet’s voice was first discovered during a local radio talent show. He entered the municipal conservatory under the tutelage of Bertrand Gaillour and was soon able to compete in the leading singing competitions of the period. He won everything.
