Lauren Armishaw

Lauren Armishaw studied composition and voice and also mathematics at the Victoria University in Wellington. In 2002 she moved to the Netherlands to study early music with Rita Dams, Jill Feldman and Michael Chance at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, and today she is coached by Peter Harrison. Lauren Armishaw took solo roles in works including Handel’s Messiah, Bach’s St Matthew and St John Passions and Monteverdi’s Vespers. She also enjoys singing Mozart, Haydn, Mendelssohn and Poulenc and music by less familiar composers such as Vinci and Bononcini. She has collaborated with ensembles including Les Muffatti, L’Arpeggiata, Corale Jonia, the Auckland Choral Society and the Netherlands Bach Society, and she has her own trio Lacrime Amorose. On the opera stage Lauren Armishaw sang the role of Venere in Cavalli’s Ercole Amante and Clori in Handel’s Il delirio amoroso.
