Alfred Reiter

ALFRED REITER studied at the conservatoire in Munich, where he won first prize at the Richard-Strauss-Gesellschaft in 1993. At the beginning of his career, he sang many smaller and larger roles in Wiesbaden and Nürnberg. In 2008, he joined the ensemble of Oper Frankfurt. Recent engagements include performances of Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte in Vienna, Paris, London, Glyndebourne, Salzburg and Geneva; Gurnemanz in Parsifal in Leipzig, Geneva and Cardiff (Welsh National Opera); König Marke in Tristan und Isolde in Geneva, Cardiff (WNO) and Cologne; Fafner in Der Ring des Nibelungen at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence and Baron Ochs in Der Rosenkavalier in Geneva. Reiter also sang Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte) in the Bregenz Festival in 2014, Graf Waldner (Arabella) in Barcelona, and Seneca (L’incoronazione di Poppea) in Frankfurt.
