Laura Aikin

The American soprano LAURA AIKIN (Marilyn Monroe) studied in her hometown Buffalo and then in New York, Indiana and Munich. She started her career with the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, where she sang roles like Königing der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte, Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos, Amenaide in Tancredi, Sophie in Der Rosenkavalier, Adele in Die Fledermaus and the title roles in Zaide and Lulu. She also sang these roles in Zurich, Milan, Vienna and Lyon. Her repertoire also includes roles like Fiakermilli in Arabella (Metropolitan Opera New York), L’Ange in Saint François d’Assise, Anne Truelove in The Rake’s Progress (San Francisco Opera), Aithra in Die ägyptische Helena (Deutsche Oper Berlin), Cleopatra in Giulio Cesare (Semperoper Dresden), Konstanze in Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Badi’ at in the world premiere of L’Upupa (Salzburg) and a performance for Pope Benedictus XVI with the Orchestra di Santa Cecilia. She has also sung Lulu (Opéra national de Paris) and Marguerite de Valois in Les Huguenots (Strasbourg), Marie in Die Soldaten and Morgan Le Fay in Gawain (Salzburg). She has previously performed with Dutch National Opera in Lulu, Saint François d’Assise and Die Entführung aus dem Serail.
