The French-Canadian bass ALAIN COULOMBE (Clark Gable) participated in the Young Artists Programs of Opéra de Montréal, the Canadian Opera Company and the Tanglewood Music Center. He is a regular guest with the Canadian Opera Company, where he performs roles like Sarastro in Die Zauberflöte, Count Ilya Rostov War and Peace, Pope in Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk and Il Re in Aida. His repertoire also includes Oroveso in Norma (Vancouver, Victoria), Des Grieux in Manon (Ottawa), Il Commendatore in Don Giovanni, Raimondo in Lucia di Lammermoor (Cincinnati, Montréal), Collatinus in The Rape of Lucretia (Montréal, Toronto, Victoria), Lignière in Cyrano (world premiere, Michigan). He has previously sung Sergeant Flowerdew in Mary’s Wedding (world premiere, Pacific Opera Victoria), Seneca in L’incoronazione di Poppea (Toronto, Cleveland), Ramfis in Aida (Calgary), Sparafucile in Rigoletto (Québec, Toronto, Michigan, Victoria), Arkel in Pelléas et Mélisande (Edmonton), Banco in Macbeth (Victoria), George Benton in Dead man walking (Montreal) and Zuniga in Carmen (Ottawa)
