The American baritone DANIEL BELCHER (Bobby (RFK)) won a Grammy in 2011 for his performance of Jaufré Rudel in Kaija Saariaho’s L’amour de loin. His repertoire includes roles like Captain Corcoran in HMS Pinafore (Kansas City), Figaro in Il barbiere di Siviglia (Portland), Taddeo in L’italiana in Algeri (Utah Symphony | Utah Opera, Opera Company Philadelphia, Houston Grand Opera), Ned Keene in Peter Grimes (Grand Théâtre de Genève) and Prior Walter in the world premiere of Peter Eötvös’ Angels in America (Théâtre du Châtelet), Marcello in La bohème (Lyric Opera Kansas City), Papageno in Die Zauberflöte (San Francisco), Dandini in La Cenerentola (Utah Opera, San Francisco, Philadelphia), the title role in Billy Budd (Houston Grand Opera) and the title role in Orfeo ed Euridice (Stadttheater Klagenfurt). He has previously sung Mercutio in Roméo et Juliette (Opera Colorado), Papageno (Utah Opera, Opera Colorado, Lyric Opera of Kansas City), Dandini (Lyric Opera Baltimore) and the title role in Le nozze di Figaro (Florentine Opera, Central City Opera Colorado). With DNO, he has sung in Dr Atomic.
