David DePeters

One of the most sought-after percussionists in the United States, David DePeters has been performing with The Philadelphia Orchestra as a fourth percussionist for 28 seasons. In addition, Mr. DePeters performs regularly with the New York Philharmonic touring extensively with both ensembles throughout Europe and Asia. He has held the title of Percussionist with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and Percussion/Associate Principal Timpani with the Buffalo Philharmonic.

In 2016, Mr. DePeters became the CEO and Executive Director for the National Repertory Orchestra, a festival orchestra recognized for preparing young musicians for future careers in music. Mr. DePeters holds a similar role as the Executive Director of the IRIS Orchestra, one of the country’s most innovative and unique orchestras, based in Germantown, TN.

Mr. DePeters’ chamber music activities have included the Breckenridge Music Festival, Music in the Great Hall, Network for New Music, Philadelphia Orchestra Chamber Concert Series, Saxony Bohemia Music Festival in Germany and the Cartagena Music Festival in Columbia. He has appeared in and recorded the soundtrack to Martin Scorsese’s Age of Innocence in addition to numerous recordings with major orchestras under Deutsche Grammophone, London, EMI, Naxos and Telarc record labels.

Mr. DePeters’ recital appearances include Carnegie Hall in New York, Indiana University, University of Maryland, University of Pennsylvania at Irvine Auditorium in Philadelphia, and Hong Kong University.

David DePeters is a graduate of the Curtis Institute of Music with additional studies at the Eastman School of Music and Boyer School of Music, Temple University. His primary teachers have included Michael Bookspan, Gerald Carlyss and Lynn Harbold.
