Egon Kracht will present his new album Stabat Mater Stabat Pater during an exclusive concert at the 3rd of April in the Amstelkerk, Amsterdam. 

In 2011 Egon Kracht composed his third religious work, which is based on the famous 13th century poem Stabat Mater Dolorosa . This poem already was an inspiration for many composers like Palestrina, Pergolesi, Vivaldi, Haydn en Pärt. Now it is has become an inspiration for Egon Kracht to.

Stabat Mater Stabat Pater
Stabat Mater Dolorosa is about the grieve of a mother for her son. Instead on just focusing on the mother, Egon Kracht felt the need of giving the father a voice to. The man joins his wife in mourning their child’s death. This is the subject matter that lies at heart of Stabat Mater Stabat Pater. 
In addeption to the father and the mother a third voice is introduced: The good friend of the family ‘ Who stand by the parents in a period of mourning. 

Stabat Mater Stabat Pater went in premiere on November 23, 2011 and received some beautiful reviews. One Dutch newspaper, in a review of the 2011 premiere, called Stabat Mater Stabat Pater a ‘modern classic’. Stabat Mater Stabat Pater is performed by the Troupe. For every new composition The Troupe’s line-up is different. Egon Kracht picks the musicians who will best suit the particular overall sound he has in mind.
