About the album
The dynamic rhythm section that worked behind Anthony Braxton as part of his legendary mid-'80s through mid-'90s quartet steps out on its own to perform a program of Braxton compositions. Having worked with Braxton for well over two decades, Crispell, Dresser and Hemingway have an insight into his work that few can match. All virtuosos and bandleaders in their own right, this fabulous trio has a telepathic interplay. Reformed for Braxton's 65th birthday concert, they were recruited on the spot to record a CD of music for Tzadik, and went into the studio soon after to record a brilliant set of performances that run a wide gamut of styles and moods.
