About the album
"Visionen", is a kind of "coming home" for vibraphonist Wolfgang Schlüter. On the one hand the album builds a wonderful bridge between his current quartet (Boris Netsvetaev-p, Philipp Steen-b, Kai Bussenius-dr) and the NDR Bigband, which came to be Schlüters "home" from 1965 to 1995. On the other, the compositions recorded are a superior blend of cover versions from some of his heroes, for instance Charlie Parker ("Donna Lee") or Ray Noble ("Cherokee") combined with his own pieces dedicated to esteemed colleagues like Albert Mangelsdorff ("Albert") or poet Peter Rühmkorff ("Der Poet") .
