About the album
The romantic song cycle of Schubert "Die schöne Müllerin" expresses the unanswered love of a wanderer for a miller's girl. The young American tenor singer Donald George interpretes these songs in a very particular way which is quite unconventional in today's interpretation of Schubert's songs but more like they were performed with Fanny Mendelssohn in Berlin.
At the piano we have the talented Flemish pianist Jan Vermeulen who plays at his own Tröndlin pianoforte from 1825, an instrument from the times when Schubert wrote his music. The tenor singer Donald George is singing as a soloist at all big opera houses and is a very praised song singer in Germany.
