Without a doubt Ray is one of the most succesful session guitarplayers around. He worked and toured for/with such artists as Curtis Mayfield, Quincy Jones, Roebuck "Pops" Staples & The Staple Singers, Nancy Wilson, "Mr.Motown" himself, Berry Gordy, George Duke, Stanley Clarke, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, David Foster, Mike Post, Dionne Warwick, Natalie Cole, Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Oleta Adams, Bebe & Cece Winans, Kirk Franklin, Tramaine Hawkins, Donnie McClurkin and Yolanda Adams. Finally Ray steppes out on his own with his excellent debut album. The album is a mix of fusion, smooth jazz and soul and includes a list of notable musicians such as; George Duke, Branford Marsalis, Phil Perry, Eric Marienthal and Everette Harp. The tracklists includes a.o. a beautiful laid back version of Teena Marie's classic "Portuguese Love" and an amazing rework of the Isley Brothers hit "Work To Do" featuring the powerful vocals of Phil Perry.
