De wereldpremière van zes klavecimbelsonates van W.F. Bach
Dit is het eerste album dat volledig is toegewijd aan klavecimbelsonates van Wilhelm Friedemann Bach, de oudste zoon van de bekende Johann Sebastian Bach. Deze werken worden nauwelijks opgenomen, en het gehele album kan dan ook beschreven worden als een wereldpremière. De sonates met hun plotselinge contrasten, verrassende veranderingen en dramatische en vaak humoristische effecten zijn niet alleen werken van een grote schoonheid en belang, maar vormen ook een wezenlijk deel van de ontwikkeling van de klaviersonate, die direct naar de geweldige sonates van Beethoven leidt.

De muziek wordt uitgevoerd door Anneke Uittenbosch, een van 's werelds meest vooraanstaande interpreten van klavecimbelmuziek uit de Barok. Haar uitvoeringen van werken van Sweelinck, de zonen van Bach en Peter Philips hebben niets anders dan lof ontvangen van de internationale critici. Haar opnames van de complete werken voor klavecimbel en viool van Carl Philip Emanuel Bach hebben een nieuwe norm voor Barokinterpretaties gesteld.

Wilhelm Friedemann Bach

Wilhelm Friedemann Bach was a German keyboardist and composer. He was the oldest son of Johann Sebastian Bach and Maria Barbara Bach. He worked in Dresden, Halle, Braunschweig, and finally Berlin. He was regarded as one of the greatest organist of his time and is renowned for his organ improvisations.  In Halle, the Wilhelm-Friedemann-Bach-Haus is named after him; a museum dedicated to him and six other composers of his time, in a house where he used to live.  Wilhelm Friedemann's music shows the same 'architectual' proficiency known from his father, particular in his counter point.
