Yuri Honing winner VPRO/Boy Edgar Prize!

It has been announced on the Dutch TV programme De Wereld Draait Door that the winner of the VPRO/Boy Edgar Prize is Yuri Honing!

His new album "True" with his Acoustic Quartet has been recorded in Berlin and will be released on 14th February.

The VPRO/Boy Edgar Prijs, is awarded annually to a Dutch instrumentalist, composer, arranger or band leader in the area of jazz and improvised music. The prize is awarded annually under the auspices of the VPRO (Dutch public broadcoasting) and Muziek Centrum Nederland (Music Center the Netherlands)

The judges say about Yuri: “Yuri Honing is blessed with great musical talent, craftsmanship and workmanship. He carries out his profession creatively and inventively in a pioneering and cross-bordering manner.”
