"Without music, life would be a mistake." - Friedrich Nietzsche

Praised for his mature interpretations, remarkable technique, and profound musical imagination, cellist Cameron Crozman is hailed as one Canada’s up and coming young artists. With an active performance schedule in North America and Europe, Cameron has performed as a soloist with orchestras including the Quebec Symphony, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, and Hamilton Philharmonic under the direction of conductors such as Fabien Gabel, Edwin Outwater, and Gemma New. An avid collaborator, he has shared the stage with leading artists AndréLaplante, Huw Watkins, Martin Beaver, Géard Caussé and James Campbell among others, and worked with composers Kaija Saariaho, PÄ“eris Vasks, and Kelly-Marie Murphy.

After studies in Canada with Paul Pulford, Cameron journeyed to Europe where he was a student at the Paris Conservatory. After receiving his Master’s level with highest honours in the class of Michel Strauss and Guillaume Paoletti, he was chosen as one of six cellists for Gautier Capuçn’s 2016-17 Classe d’excellence at the Louis Vuitton Foundation.

As a winner of the Jeunesses Musicales Canada AndréBourbeau prize, Cameron has benefited from the mentorship of world-renowned violinist James Ehnes. On this album, Cameron plays the ca. 1696 “Bonjour” Stradivarius cello and the ca. 1830 “Shaw” Adam cello bow, both generously on loan from the Canada Council for the Arts’ Musical Instrument Bank.
