The Goeyvaerts String Trio has won an Edison Award in the category Chamber music for the cd 'Stabat Mater'! Other nominees in the same category were Steven Issirlis and Quator Ebene.
In the jury report we can read:
"The Goeyvaerts String Trio makes Pärt’s Stabat Mater bloom as never before: crystal clear and full of overtones. Also Simeron of Ivan Moody, composed for the trio, is being played and sung in an unbelievably impressive way."
The TV show on Dutch national television Vrije Geluiden announced the winner and now the Goeyvaerts String Trio has received the Edison statue on November 29th 2014 at the BUMA Classical Convention in TivoliVredenburg in Utrecht. This was during the concert of the Goeyvaerts String Trio in the afternoon.
The CD is doing extremely well. It is not only a new reference recording for Arvo Pärt's Stabat Mater, but also the new piece that was composed especially for the string quartet with singers of Ivan Moody 'Simeron' is highly impressive!
Congrats to the Goeyvaerts String Trio!
