After performances on BIRDs Homegrown and BIRDsessions it's time for the real work. This evening presents eight piece band Marutyri a new album, Inner Movements.
Eight friends from Rotterdam shared a passion for fusion and jazz music and decided to do something with it: The band Marytyri was born. All eight men have played with both national and international artists. It has their inspired to scramble their own styles. The result is a mix of funk, fusion, jazz and R&B
Inner Movements is the first full length studio recording of Marutyri. The album tells the story about the changes the band has gone through. They wanted to play to their best potential and record it on tape. Simple as that. During the week at the Rocktown Studio in Rotterdam, they got really comfortable playing each piece, despite the tight schedule they had to stick to.
Their album Inner Movements has deep and solid grooves, intense harmonies, story telling solo’s, and well arranged parts make Marutyri unique in the tougher-than-ever music business. How did this band become successful on such short notice? Well, delivering hard work on not only their compositions, but also making stunning live video’s and putting thought in a deadline based strategy, turned out to be highly effective. Most of the compositions, arrangements and project planning come from band leader and bass player Rik van der Ouw. The band shares artistic ideas, works hard and focussed and then sends their music off to the world.
The album Inner Movements will make it's debut on Friday 7th of April and the same day will it's release concert take place at the BIRD ROTTERDAM Venue.
