Lars Wouters van den Oudenweijer (NL, 1977) studied at the Juilliard School for Music on a Fulbright International Scholarship. He has won several international competitions such as “International Competition for Youth” (Lisbon 1994) and RTBF Jeunes Solistes (Brussels 1993). In 1999 he made his debut in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. Since then he performed in Carnegie Hall New York, Wigmore Hall London, Konzerthaus Vienna, Cité de la Musique Paris and Palais des Beaux Arts Brussels and with Charles Neidich, Emmanuel Pahud, Sergio Azzolini, Julian Rachlin, Alexei Lubimov, Vladimir Mendelsohn, Janine Jansen, the Skampa, Ad Libitum, Quartetto di Torino, Ebène, and Altenberg Trio. He has appeared as a soloist with the Rotterdam Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra of the Netherlands, Orchestra of Nanjing, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, New Ensemble Amsterdam and Philharmonischer Orchester Hagen. Lars world premiered the Clarinet Concerto “Yellow Darkness” by Willem Jeths in 2005 and “Euro” by Theo Abazis at the Carnegie Hall New York in 2001. In 2003, he was awarded an “Edison” for his debut cd. Since 2007 he has been the artistic director of the “Toon Festival Brabant”. Lars Wouters teaches at the Brabants Conservatory.
