Born in Rostov-on-Don, Evgeny Ring moved to Leipzig in October 2007 to study saxophone at the renowned College for Music and Theater. Thanks to his friendly disposition, he quickly found new friends among fellow students and selected three of them to found a quartet. As the Evgeny Ring Quartet, they want to express their musical view of the world in a rustic ensemble sound as the symbiosis of Russian and German culture with the kind support of their college mentors Johannes Enders and Richie Beirach. In more than 60 concerts (among others, in Burghausen where they also filled the Double Moon "talent scout" with enthusiasm) and a Russian tour, they have made name for themselves in the German and Russian jazz scenes. In 2011, the Evgeny Ring Quartet is presenting their first album "Ya Tashus".
