Barock_Plus captivates audiences with its vibrant presence and virtuosic performances. Original arrangements, colourful instrumentation, and a baroque repertoire complemented by works from antiquity and the modern era constitute the unique “plus” of this award-winning ensemble.
In 2023, Barock_Plus made a remarkable debut at the göttingen händel competition, winning first prize. Further distinctions soon followed, including second prize at the International Biagio Marini Competition, as well as third prize and the Audience Award at the Förderpreis des Saarländischen Rundfunks. These successes led to invitations to prestigious festivals such as the Musikfestspiele Potsdam Sanssouci, the Originalklang-Festival FEL!X at the Kölner Philharmonie, and the International Handel Festival Göttingen.
The following year, the ensemble was awarded a scholarship by the Deutscher Musikwettbewerb and selected for the concert promotion initiative of the German Music Council. In addition, Barock_Plus is regularly featured in radio and television broadcasts.
The four musicians draw inspiration from renowned artists such as Maurice Steger, Kristin von der Goltz, Alfredo Bernardini, Jeremias Schwarzer, and Wiebke Weidanz. Described as a “perfectly balanced ensemble” (Donaukurier), Barock_Plus presents itself to a wide audience with exceptional virtuosity. Through innovative concert formats, interdisciplinary projects, and children’s concerts, the ensemble seeks to cross boundaries and tell the story of early music in a contemporary way.
In 2025, Barock_Plus was honoured with the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize for its bold and compelling reinterpretation of tradition.
