
Following an early career as a flautist, Swedish soprano Lisa Larsson studied singing in Basel, Switzerland. In her first engagement at the Zurich Opera House she worked with conductors including Nikolaus Harnoncourt and Franz Welser-Möst. After her debut at La Scala in Milan under Riccardo Muti she quickly established herself as a leading international Mozart singer performing Susanna, Pamina, Zaide, Zerlina, Servilia, Ilia, Fortuna and Ismene.
She appeared at the Bavarian State Opera, the Royal Opera Covent Garden, the Teatro La Fenice, the Royal Swedish Opera and the Theater Basel. She was also invited by major festivals including the Salzburg Festival, and the Glyndebourne Festival.
Her substantial discography includes amongst others a Haydn album with the Combttimento Consort Amsterdam under the direction of Jan Willemde Vriend, a recording of Strauss’ “Vier letzte Lieder” under Douglas Boyd, the Mozart operas “Don Giovanni” under Daniel Harding, “Mitridate” under Adam Fischer as well as numerous Bach Cantatas under Sir John Eliot Gardiner and Ton Koopman.
