"If you were music, I would listen to you ceaselessly, and my low spirits would brighten up." - Anna Akhmatova

Mélisande Corriveau

Mélisande Corriveau is equally at ease with the Baroque cello, recorders, and the viola da gamba as she is with the pardessus de viole. In 2014, she obtained a doctorate with honors in performance on the latter instrument from the Université de Montréal, becoming one of the few people in the world specializing in the pardessus de viole. Her expertise has been called on both in America and in Europe, where she has played with such renowned ensembles as the Voix Humaines viol consort, La Bande Montréal Baroque, Les Boréades de Montréal, the New York Baroque, Ensemble Caprice, Sonate 1704, Capriccio Stravagante (Paris), and Ensemble Masques. As well, she is artistic co-director of L’Harmonie des saisons. Many of  Mélisande Corriveau’s concerts have been broadcast by the CBC and by national radio networks in Belgium, France, Poland, Austria, the Netherlands, Germany, and the United States. As well, she has participated in more than 30 recordings on the Naxos, XXI, Analekta, ATMA Classique, Harmonia Mundi, Paradiso, and Zig-Zag Territoires labels.
