Ensemble MORGAINE

Mirjam-Luise Münzel (Berlin / London) studied recorder, historical performance and baroque cello in Germany, Spain and London, where she recently received her Master’s degree with distinction at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is the winner of the international Biagio Marini competition, Neuburg (Germany); a semi-finalist in the international Telemann competition, Magdeburg (Germany); and a finalist in the Concours internationales des Journées musiques anciennes, Paris. Mirjam was one of the Handel House Young Artists 2016, and her group Lux Musicae London was selected for the 2016/2017 Brighton Early Music Festival programme.
Darius Stabinskas (Vilnius) studied viola da gamba with Roberto Gini at the Scuola Civica di Musica in Milan. He is involved in numerous international projects all over the world, and is the artistic director of Brevis Consort. Darius dedicates a great deal of effort to upholding Lithuania’s early music legacy by rescuing and bringing to public attention many of the country’s important yet still unheard musical opuses. He has been the director of the Banchetto Musicale early music festival in Vilnius since 2003.
Alina Rotaru (Bremen / Vilnius) studied harpsichord in Germany and The Netherlands. She performs worldwide, mainly as a soloist, and has taught at the University of the Arts in Bremen since 2006. Her solo recordings of the harpsichord works of J.P. Sweelinck, J.J. Froberger, as well as those of English virginalists (Parthenia), have received excellent reviews in the music press, earning her a place on the list of the most illustrious harpsichordists of the new generation.
Michele Carreca (Rome) studied lute at the Conservatorio Santa Cecilia in Rome with Andrea Damiani. He is a prolific performer in Europe, South America and the USA, taking part in numerous international festivals and recording for several labels including Brilliant Classics, Classic VoiceAntiqua, Continuo Records among others. His latest solo recording of music by Giacomo Gorzanis was released in 2017. He gives masterclasses both in and outside of Italy, and teaches at the Conservatorio V. Bellini in Palermo.
