In the summer of 1999, producer Bart Knol en DJ Stephan van den Bos decided to bundle their strengths in a new formula, which helped them winning the first price of ‘De Grote Prijs van Nederland’ later that year, in the category Dance. In 2000 the group adds a new member to the dance act, vocalist Martin Hilkhuysen.
The years after, Longplayers having a tour true several clubs and festivals in The Netherlands. occasionally with drummer Mathijs Beukema, guitar-player Barry de Kok and break-dance formation Stylez Confidential.
In 2001 Longplayers present their debut album, ‘Bad Thoughts On A Sunny Day’, followed- up by, ‘Scattered by Storm (EP)’ in 2002. The two releases been picked up quit good by the Dutch press.
