The music of the British rockband Radiohead knows, besides the impressive lyrics, lots of melancholic chord progressions, interesting rhythmical patterns and powerful 'licks'. Those elements are great ingredients for a jazz musician. So improvizing on that music gives several dimensions which go beyond other and older jazz styles. Noordpool Orchestra is a new light music orchestra. A big band with strings and woodwinds. 42 professional musicians from the Northern Netherlands play Jazz, Pop, Chanson, Film Music, Musical, Tango, Hip Hop, Cabaret and other genres! After two successful first concerts in 2009, Noordpool Orchestra really started in 2010. With innovative orchestral music Noordpool Orchestra will collaborate with various artists and companies.
