François Lindemann

François Lindemann’s career as a musician has spanned more than 25 years and the entire globe. After studying at Lausanne’s Conservatory, he took his musical training into his own hands, discovering jazz through Clifford Brown and Coltrane’s quartet in the 1960s. He had put together his own orchestra and was composing original music by 1969. Closely affiliated with the period’s “free” movement, he honed his craft in local clubs before forming the group CM4 in 1974. He toured in Europe and the States in the eighties and nineties, playing with such famous musicians as Carla Bley, Robin Eubanks, Curtis Fuller and Woody Shaw.
