"Endorphins therefore offers us his vision of decades of electronic music, starting with the soaring, basic cerebral, and ending up adding more recent touches of dance, not excluding in the process some electro body music rhythms. He did the trick well without knocking us out with pieces of trying lengths.  "

About the album

Although instrumental, the music on Descending is heavily inspired by movies from the 70s/early 80s and addresses themes of nostalgia, grief, identity, hauntology, psychedelics, the occult and supernatural.

The album has been recorded over a ten year stretch and will be released with an accompanying visual album reconfiguring existing footage into new narratives.

endorphins (electronics)

endorphins is the pseudonym of Thomas Heijmans hailing from Utrecht, the Netherlands. He has been producing electronic music under this moniker since the late nineties. With a love for both ancient electronica pioneers and more current electronic music combined with a cinematic sensibility, the sound of endorphins can best be described as having a clear melodic and at times visual quality with experimental undertones. Aside from endorphins he has released music in the past as part of the award winning (Grote prijs van Nederland) Quick & Brite and the electronica-metal L'Enfer. As Beyond Reason he has worked as a veejay, hosted found footage movie nights, produced video mixtapes and several music videos.  Music by endorphins has been featured in several art projects and...
