About the album

Well known viola player Krzysztof Chorzelski of the Belcea Quartet performs works for viola and piano, and he enjoys the diverse career that has taken him all over the world. He is accompanied by Katya Apekisheva, who is one of Europe's foremost pianists, and she has been described by Gramophone magazine as 'a profoundly gifted artist' who has 'already achieved artistic greatness.' Packing tremendous emotional impact, Krzysztof says these works supplied a 'deeply moving experience for Katya and myself. There’s a fragility to this music which requires a lot of courage from the performers.'
